Offering Reiki healing to the public
A one-day introductory workshop
10.00 am - 5.00 pm 10 March 2012
Central England College, Kings Heath, Birmingham

Or you may be quite new to Reiki, but are thinking that at some stage you might like to earn at least part of your living through giving Reiki treatments.
You may already have tried offering Reiki to the public, but encountered difficulties. This course will also be helpful for you.
You may already be in public practice: this will be an opportunity to find out more about the current position with regard to national standards for Reiki practitioners that have been agreed over recent years.
First and Second level Reiki courses are not designed to prepare you for public treatment practice. So there are commonly many questions raised as people move towards the next step.
Questions such as: What does 'public practice' mean? How do I know if I'm ready? What do I need to do/know before I start? Are there any rules and regulations I should be aware of? Do I need to join a Reiki organisation? Do I need insurance? Is it possible to make my living by giving Reiki treatments? What is the best way to become a successful practitioner?
This one-day workshop will give you an introduction to what other qualities are needed, perhaps to recognise those you already have and to gain clarity about those you may need to do further study to acquire.
I have 22 years of experience giving Reiki treatments to members of the public. I have always been interested in the development of this aspect of our practice, which led me to participate in development of standards with The Reiki Association, to attend several conferences in the USA about public practice in the Usui System, to participate in the development of National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Reiki and subsequently also for the development of the NOS for Complementary and Natural Healthcare with specific reference to the Reiki section. I have also represented The Reiki Association and Reiki Alliance on the Reiki Regulatory Working Group which became the Reiki Council in 2008. Earlier this year I was appointed to the Reiki Profession Specific Board for the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
I look forward to sharing my experience and enthusiasm with you.
Fee: £40 (£25 for those on a low income)

“Very thorough and informative. Good question and answer session. Very informative and done at a pace where you could digest the information easily. Great course.”
“I came with a list of things I wanted to know more about and Kate addressed these and more. Liked the fact that I was able to apply the learning I gained from the course within a very short space of time to both widen and target my practice. Thanks so much.”
“I found the teaching excellent and it surpassed what I hoped for, covering everything that was relevant... it was wonderful and it equipped me with what I needed to move forwards with my Reiki practice.
“Thank you Kate for your generous sharing of experience and knowledge, for your patience and compassion. Inspirational - as always.”
