A Duty of Care: moving into Public Practice of Reiki21, 22 March 2009
Central England Holistic College, Birmingham | |
You may already have tried offering Reiki to the public, but encountered difficulties. This course will also be helpful for you.
This year we will explore the questions on the first day and on the second day you will have the opportunity to try out some of your skills - to receive feedback that will support you in developing as a Reiki practitioner. This will include how to describe Reiki to people, how to deal with clients when you first meet them and also giving the Reiki treatment. You can attend the first day only or both days.
| What a previous participant thought: "I was very pleased with the wealth of information you gave us. I also found the seminar to be very stimulating and gave me a lot of "food for thought". I am always a little nervous of meeting new people. The one thing I've learnt is that, because we all share the same interest and commitment - Reiki Healing - then we are meeting up with one common purpose and there is the starting point for friendly talk and discussion and relating experiences. The seminar was very successful, I think, because you put us all at ease and treated us all the same which provided an atmosphere where we could safely and confidently ask even the most obscure and "off-beat" questions and laugh and feel happy and relaxed whilst still being able to learn and feel informed. Thank you." Carol, Birmingham |
Tai Chi Principles | ![]() |
Do you find your arms or back ache sometimes when you give Reiki treatments? This workshop may help!
A One Day workshop to explore how Tai Chi principles can help Reiki practitioners in giving treatments. Many Reiki people struggle at times with holding their hands still for the length of time needed in each position. Sometimes it is the arms that ache, sometimes it is the back. Whether you give treatments sitting or standing, how you hold your body makes a difference to your comfort in giving Reiki. In this workshop we will explore how using Tai Chi principles can enable us to find a more comfortable way of being in our Reiki treatments. You will also learn some exercises to practice after the workshop to assist you in your treatments - and daily life.
No previous experience of Tai Chi is necessary (but you do need to be initiated/attuned into Reiki).
Alec Jones has been teaching Tai Chi for over 20 years. He is also a Reiki master, so understands the needs of the Reiki practitioner.
| What a previous participants thought: "I feel that Kate and Alec were perfect as teachers, being informative and helpful and proving that the principles of Tai Chi certainly can help with our Reiki practice, but also in all areas of our lives. I felt that this workshop made a difference to me; I had grwon some more by the end of the day and I am using the knowledge gained in a daily basis." Larraine, Birmingham A thoroughly informative, useful, and tiring day. Has made me more aware of my body and hand positions when giving Reiki. Yet another workshop to recommend to others - keep up the good work! Liz, Birmingham |
Please contact me if you are interested and I will send you a booking leaflet as soon as it is available.

What previous participants of this workshop thought: "An interesting and thought provoking workshop. I can see why people wanted to repeat the session." "Found
the whole day very calming and mood lifting. Loved the whole group:
very kind caring people. Came away feeling very happy and have had a
much more positive outlook since, everything looks brighter! Have slept
much better since." "I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the obvious trust that everyone was prepared to put in everyone around them." |
Reiki for Animals:An Exploration | A day to share experiences of treating animals with Reiki, to include some practical work giving Reiki to some ponies. Here is what one of the participants said about working with the pony Pebbles: "The trust I felt from Pebbles was amazing, as she leaned towards me during treatment. That she thought it was safe to lean on an “8 stone dripping wet” person restored my faith that it is not always the biggest and loudest that succeed. That pony is an angel." There is also the possibility of this course taking place in Ayrshire - please let me know if you would be interested. |
Celebrating Our Hands | A day to connect with and celebrate our hands, the means by which we give Reiki! The day will include exchanging a simple hand massage and Reiki, a shared lunch and no doubt the sharing of Reiki stories!"It was lovely to learn something new, which can be used in conjunction with Reiki or as a separate ‘tool’. It made me appreciate my hands a lot more. I particularly liked how something so simple can have amazing results. This is always the case with Reiki. A whole day of sharing, learning and healing in beautiful surroundings and with wonderful company! A definite bargain I’d say!” Larraine, Birmingham |
