Reiki For Animals: An Exploration

21 August Birmingham

An opportunity to spend time exploring giving Reiki to animals.  We will consider questions such as: how do you get permission from an animal?  What is the best way to prepare for treating animals?  How long does an animal need to be treated - and many more!  At the Shropshire venue we will be practicing on ponies and in Birmingham we will have the opportunity to practice with rabbits, chickens and goats.

Click here to see pictures and feedback about the ones that took place last year.

Widening the Circle: moving into Public Practice of Reiki

1 - 3 October 2010

Oak Barn, Clee St Margaret, Shropshire

If you are a Reiki practitioner who has been practising for a while you may find yourself drawn to offering Reiki treatments to a wider circle of people – to people you don’t know. This is known as ‘public practice’. You may find that you have many uncertainties and questions that arise as you take this step, because dealing with a public practice is not something that is generally taught in 1st and 2nd level Reiki classes. It may be that you want to earn your living from giving Reiki treatments, but have questions as to how to go about this.

You may already have tried offering Reiki to the public, but encountered difficulties. This course will also be helpful for you.

This year I am offering the opportunity to spend a weekend in the lovely Shropshire countryside exploring these questions and more.  You will have the opportunity to try out some of your skills - to receive feedback that will support you in developing as a Reiki practitioner. This will include how to describe Reiki to people, how to deal with clients when you first meet them and also giving the Reiki treatment.

You can either stay at Oak Barn or attend as a day delegate.  You will find details of the costs on the booking form.

I have over 20 years of experience giving Reiki treatments to members of the public and have participated in developing standards for Reiki practitioners in various organisations as well as attending various conferences on this subject.  I look forward to sharing my experience and enthusiasm with you.

What a previous participant thought (of a one day workshop):

"I was very pleased with the wealth of information you gave us. I also found the seminar to be very stimulating and gave me a lot of "food for thought". I am always a little nervous of meeting new people. The one thing I've learnt is that, because we all share the same interest and commitment - Reiki Healing - then we are meeting up with one common purpose and there is the starting point for friendly talk and discussion and relating experiences. The seminar was very successful, I think, because you put us all at ease and treated us all the same which provided an atmosphere where we could safely and confidently ask even the most obscure and "off-beat" questions and laugh and feel happy and relaxed whilst still being able to learn and feel informed. Thank you."

Other workshops I run: look out for forthcoming dates

The Gift of Self Treatment

When you learned Reiki you gave yourself a wonderful gift: the ability to give Reiki to yourself.  So do you use this gift?  Or is it neglected, like a forgotten present?

This workshop is intended to inspire you to commit to regular self treatment.  This will include a review of hand positions (or learning them if you have never been taught them), a chance to discuss the challenges and delights of giving yourself Reiki.  We will also do a self treatment together, which students have found a valuable experience alongside others

Comments from previous participants:

"It went a whole lot deeper than I imagined it would.  I thought it would just be about how great self treatment is, but the whole why we don't do it part was very revealing indeed!  I found it unexpectedly enlightening!!"

"Thank you for the gift of enjoying your warm enthusiasm in imparting the Reiki message.  [I particularly enjoyed] the chance to explore with others the reasons for not doing Reiki and the other participants of the evening were lovely"

Taiji Principles to Support Reiki Practitioners

with Alec Jones of Dragon Spring Taij
and Kate Jones Reiki Master

Do you find your arms or back ache sometimes when you give Reiki treatments?  This workshop may help!

A workshop to explore how Taiji (Tai Chi) principles can help Reiki practitioners in giving treatments.  Many Reiki people struggle at times with holding their hands still for the length of time needed in each position.  Sometimes it is the arms that ache, sometimes it is the back.  Whether you give treatments sitting or standing, how you hold your body makes a difference to your comfort in giving Reiki.

In this workshop we will explore how using Taiji principles can enable us to find a more comfortable way of being in our Reiki treatments.  You will also learn some exercises to practice after the workshop to assist you in your treatments - and daily life.

No previous experience of Taiji is necessary (but you do need to be initiated/attuned into Reiki in the physical presence of your master).

Alec Jones has been teaching Taiji for over 25 years.  He is also a Reiki master, so understands the needs of the Reiki practitioner.  Kate has been teaching Reiki for 18 years and practising Taiji since 1986.

 What a previous participants thought:

"I feel that Kate and Alec were perfect as teachers, being informative and helpful and proving that the principles of Tai Chi certainly can help with our Reiki practice, but also in all areas of our lives.   I felt that this workshop made a difference to me; I had grwon some more by the end of the day and I am using the knowledge gained in a daily basis."

A thoroughly informative, useful, and tiring day.  Has made me more aware of my body and hand positions when giving Reiki.  Yet another workshop to recommend to others - keep up the good work!

Releasing Positive Emotions with Reiki

An opportunity to discover how Reiki can help to unlock stuck emotional states to release positive emotions like creativity, love courage and joy for life.  By focusing Reiki on specific areas of the body where we tend to store difficult emotions we can release them and thus allow the more positive emotions to flow, bringing better health on all levels and greater vitality.  To request the workshop in your area please contact me.

What previous participants of this workshop thought:

"This is the second Releasing Positive Emotions workshop I have attended. I enjoyed listening to Kate, asking questions (from us all) the practical experience (wonderful) and the time given for feedback. A very good course."

"An interesting and thought provoking workshop. I can see why people wanted to repeat the session."

"Found the whole day very calming and mood lifting. Loved the whole group: very kind caring people. Came away feeling very happy and have had a much more positive outlook since, everything looks brighter! Have slept much better since."

"The day helped me to ground myself, to get back to my centre. The main feeling I had afterwards was one of calm and strength - very welcome and part of my continuing journey towards full health and uncovering what constitutes my life. Learning to trust this doesn't always come easily to me, so I welcome all the opportunities that come my way to get support from others."

"I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the obvious trust that everyone was prepared to put in everyone around them."
