Why are stress, exhaustion and depletion
more common than peace, vitality and joy?

Life is so demanding these days it is easy to forget to take care of yourself and slip gradually (or sometimes hurtling like a landslide) into stress, exhaustion and a chronic state of just surviving. You can find you have difficulty sleeping, which makes you feel tired and irritable. You may have some form of pain that exhausts you. You may simply be feeling world weary and that your ‘get up and go’ has gone.

When you feel like this it is often difficult to do anything about it. You don’t want to be poked or prodded, you don’t want to undress in front of strangers, you don’t want to have to remember anything, like taking pills, to feel better.

"I do not pretend to understand how Reiki works but it has helped to protect and strengthen me through a particularly stressful time. The combination of good Reiki       and Kate's warm and wise personality is a powerful force. At its worst - calming and grounding; at its best, a way of improving health and developing a deeper   understanding of yourself. Highly recommended!"

If you are a Reiki practitioner, you already know it doesn't have to be difficult to feel better

If you have not received a Reiki treatment before how does this sound: you lie down for an hour, fully clothed and covered with a blanket, while a compassionate practitioner places their hands gently on your head, abdomen and back in a comforting and unintrusive way. These hands will often feel very warm, assisting your relaxation like a hot water bottle. You may drift off to sleep, you may stay awake, but finding that your mind relaxes and what seemed so important 10 minutes ago is not so worrying.

Your pain is likely to ease and you will normally feel deeply relaxed. You can lie cocooned and safe, enjoying the comfort this treatment can bring. At the  end of the treatment, you get up feeling refreshed and with a peaceful feeling of well-being. There are no pills or remedies to take, no exercises to remember, no uncomfortable intrusions on your body. And the treatment goes on working for 24 hours, while the effects can of course last even longer.

If you are a Reiki practitioner: when did you last give yourself this wonderful experience by receiving a treatment yourself?  Isn't it about time?  What better way is there to support yourself in your Reiki practice?

So how much Reiki would I need?

If you are only slightly stressed or overwrought, a single treatment can help restore the balance. If your problem is more long standing, a series of treatments can have a profound effect on your life. It might be possible for you to achieve a new sense of calm, to let go of your worries, to re-discover the joy in your life and live life more fully.  One of the best ways to get 'back on track' is to receive a 4 -day treatment, where you receive Reiki on 4 consecutive days.

So What is Reiki?

'Reiki' is Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy. This energy surrounds us all the time and flows through all living things. As a practitioner of Reiki have a connection with this energy, so that it flows through me and out through my hands when they are placed somewhere that needs healing. This could be another person, an animal or a plant or for myself. This energy helps to bring balance and harmony to the body, mind, emotions and spirit.

Reiki is a gentle, non-intrusive and natural form of healing that can be enjoyed by people, animals and plants of any age! It is also very simple to learn, so that people can take care of their own health and well being and that of their family and friends (including pets).

I practice and teach the system of Reiki known as Usui Shiki Ryoho . The teachings of this tradition have been passed to me through a lineage of wise teachers, from the founder Mikao Usui, who lived in Japan in the late 1800s to early 1900s. My lineage is:
  • Mikao Usui who taught
  • Chujiro Hayashi who taught
  • Hawayo Takata who taught
  • Wanja Twan who taught
  • Martha Sylvester who taught
  • me!

Where can I get treatments?  And the cost?

I offer treatments from The Reiki Dojo near Ludlow in Shropshire (UK).  The view above can be seen from close to The Reiki Dojo!  I also offer Reiki at Central England Holistic Therapy Centre in Birmingham

I charge £35 for a session which will usually last about 1 hour (£45 at Central England Holistic Therapy Centre).

The fee is negotiable for those on a low income. Please do not hesitate to ask for a reduced fee if you need it: I would prefer you to come for help for a reduced fee than not to come at all due to financial difficulties. I can also do home visits in a radius of 30 miles (travel expenses would then be payable on top of the session fee)

You could also learn to do Reiki for yourself and have this wonderful healing ability in your own hands any time you need it.  To find out more click here.

If you have never experienced Reiki before and are able to visit The Reiki Dojo, I can offer you a free 20 minute taster session to help you decide whether Reiki is for you.

I am a Reiki Practitioner recognised by The Reiki Association and a Member of the Reiki Alliance.
