PRPC 2023 - 2024

This Professional Reiki Practitioner course (PRPC), based on the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) /Reiki Council Core Curricula, has been developed over the past 7 years into a comprehensive preparation for practitioners who are looking to work professionally with the public.  This may include the option to work in hospices, hospitals and GP surgeries.

I am delighted that this course has now achieved Reiki Council Verification through The Reiki Association, which means that those successfully completing the course will be fast tracked for verification and can then apply to join the CNHC Reiki register.

There are 11 online modules, which take place via Zoom, once a month, on the 2nd Saturday of the month 10.00 am to 1.00pm GMT/BST . To complete the course, these online sessions will be followed by an in-person weekend.

"For anyone wishing to transition into professional practice and/or develop yourself, I highly recommend investing with Kate but please be mindful that you must be prepared to commit with time and effort. This is not a 'chalk and talk' course, as Kate encourages you to explore, research and reflect."

PRPC Overview

This course is suitable for you if you:

  • Have been giving Reiki treatments for years to family and friends and now wish to offer Reiki to a wider circle of people you don't know

  • You have not been a Reiki practitioner for very long, but know that you wish Reiki to be at the centre of your life through giving treatments

  • You are looking to join the CNHC Reiki Register, but have been daunted by the verification process

  • You simply want to deepen your understanding and practice of Reiki as a healing art

Giving Reiki treatments to members of the public requires a different approach to treating those we know.  We encounter more expectations from society, including those we treat.  Preparation for this is important in order to be confident in offering our service.

This is also a further step on your path as a Reiki practitioner, offering the opportunity to develop and deepen your Reiki practice and develop further personally and spiritually.

As a Reiki Council verified course it is based on the Reiki NOS and CNHC Core Curriculum, those who successfully complete the course will find be fast-tracked to become verified practitioners.

Course Pre-requisites

Have learned 1st and 2nd Degree Reiki (Reiki 1 and 2)

This course is designed to follow on from Usui Shiki Ryoho 1st and 2nd degree Reiki courses (if you have not yet learned Reiki you can find out more here) There will be some revision of what was covered in those courses, but there will be an expectation that you already have the relevant knowledge and understanding.  If you are unsure about this it is possible to take a refresher course for both levels.  If you learned 1st degree Reiki more than a year ago it is possible for you to begin the course without having done 2nd degree Reiki, but to complete the course you will need to take 2nd degree Reiki (which a master other than myself if you wish to stay with the Reiki form or master you learned Reiki 1 with).  If you would like to find out about my 2nd degree class please go here.

Have received in-person initiation/attunement/reiju

It is a requirement of the NOS and core curriculum that you understand why Reiki initiations/attunements/reiju need to take place in the physical presence of the Reiki master.  My criterion is that this means you need to have experienced this in person yourself, because knowledge is best based on experience.  If you have not received an in-person initiation/attunement/reiju please contact me to discuss how you can meet this criterion.

Minimum 6 Months Reiki Practice

You will also need to have been giving treatments to yourself and others for at least three months before beginning the course.  This can include giving Reiki to family members.

Openness to differences of practice

As a master of Usui Shiki Ryoho in the spiritual lineage of Usui, Hayashi, Takata, Furumoto, Reindl, my understanding, practice and teaching is rooted in this particular form of Reiki.  If this is not the form of Reiki you learned you are still welcome to attend but need to be open to differences of philosophy and approach.

Attendance at all sessions and completion of assignments

To complete the course you will need to attend all the sessions, including the in-person weekend, and also to complete the assignments that will be given for you to work on between sessions.  Some of the assignments may be completed after the series of sessions, for example the 10 case studies.

Please note that the online sessions will be live and will not be recorded, so you will need to attend on the date and time of each session.  This allows participants to feel free to share, without concerns for their privacy and also follows the Usui Shiki Ryoho value of Oral Tradition.

There will, however, be various documents made available to you after sessions to support your learning.

Technology to connect

The online sessions take place via Zoom so you will need a computer, laptop, tablet or smart phone with reasonable internet access, a camera and microphone.

Testimonials from PRPC Students 2021 - 22

"Kate's course is comprehensive, she has such depth and breadth of knowledge of Reiki. It gave me the confidence to launch my business within six months of completion.

I refer back to my notes all the time and I know they will be invaluable when I apply for verification. The connections I built with the other participants have been so supportive.

I would recommend this course to anyone currently or considering practicing Reiki professionally. "

Lynn Hebblethwaite

"I found the Professional Reiki Practitioner course to be a stimulating and enjoyable experience, covering all necessary ingredients for progression in working towards a high professional standard.

Each module involves remote group learning through discussion and sharing in a supportive and friendly environment.

Students are encouraged to think independently and work collaboratively to enhance their learning experience.

I really enjoyed the residential weekend and practical assessment too. It was was lovely to meet Kate and my ‘virtual‘ classmates face to face and have the opportunity to have some hands on practical learning experience.

Tutor and peer support have been available throughout my learning experience and beyond, making this course feel very unique and special.

I can’t recommend this course enough - it has been first class!

As a tutor, Kate brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the course. She exudes a calm authority when sharing her knowledge and skills.

Kate also actively encourages feedback and suggestions from her students. She is a warm, engaging person who is willing to go the extra mile to encourage and support her students. I would highly recommend her as tutor!

Sue Lambert

"I have observed a marked improvement in my Reiki practise since studying the PRPC course with Kate Jones. It inspired me to question 'what is reiki?' and I have integrated her teachings into all I do professionally.

It has encouraged me to rethink and redesign my website, reiki room and how I work too. This has raised my working standards leading to improved professionalism as a practitioner, increasing my confidence to liaise with other professionals within a medical establishment.

For anyone wishing to transition into professional practice and/or develop yourself, I highly recommend investing with Kate but please be mindful that you must be prepared to commit with time and effort. This is not a 'chalk and talk' course, as Kate encourages you to explore, research and reflect.

Upon reflection, the PRPC course has been an invaluable experience. I am now confidently attracting a steady flow of clients, despite my fees being at the higher end of the scale in my local area. I continue to receive some wonderful and positive feedback.

Kate Jones is one of the most genuine people I have met in the Reiki community and will always go above and beyond to offer her support."
